I can’t believe June is already coming to an end! What??? It just doesn’t seem real.
The month has been filled with Self-Confidence tips and tricks! This is the last post of this series and I’m sad it’s coming to an end. I love this series deeply because it’s something I have struggled HARD with and it is my hope and dream to see all girls have a TRUE confidence in them. We’ve talked about differences, where confidence comes from, and how to overcome the mistakes we’ve made. This week, I want to focus on how true self confidence grows a new respect for others.
When you have self confidence you begin to have self respect. When you know your worth, you treat yourself better, and when you know how much you mean to the Father, you stop giving yourself away. You also start viewing other people differently. Compassion grows deep and you realize that others have differences too, and they deserve the same love and respect that you do.
Confidence coincides with respect for others.
When you recognize your worth you start recognizing others too. The time you used to spend second guessing yourself is now shifting to focus on the worth of others. Self confidence leads to self respect. Self respect leads to a respect for others and respect for other leads to love and compassion for one another. The True source of confidence allows you to see people with a different lens. It’s a lens of compassion and empathy. It opens your eyes to the things that you thought you fought alone. When you love yourself, it’s much easier to love others.
When God began working on my heart, He began pouring his strength into me. One of my favorite verses is
But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
His strength allows me to have an unwavering confidence in who He made me to be. I’m thankful that he filled in my gaps and shows me how I can love others like He loves me.
It’s crucial that we respect the people around us for who God made them to be. Made in HIS image. Everyone deserves love, respect, & a chance. Our confidence coincides with respect for others.
I hope this series has helped you to catch confidence and find the true source. I’m praying for each of you and I look forward to seeing you grow in love and respect for yourself and others.
